Spike-timing dependent plasticity: Review session
Quentin is going to give a short overview over spiking models and plasticity following the last three chapters (part III) of Gerstner & Kistler's book, avaliabe on the web: Spiking Neuron Models.
Then, Tom is going to go over bits of both Abbott & Nelson 2000: Synaptic plasticity: taming the beast (pdf) and Guo-qiang Bi and Mu-Ming Poo 2001: Synaptic modification by correlated activity: Hebb's Postulate Revisited (pdf). The interested participants are welcome to read all of these, but Abbot and Nelson's review is the most crucial one to read for the journal club.
